Robust scientific evidence indicates that exercise is beneficial for human health. But does it extend lifespan? Animal models show that exercise alone – even in conjunction with an otherwise healthy lifestyle – doesn't extend lifespan the way intermittent fasting does. Although exercising animals are less likely to have cardiovascular disease or diabetes, they still experience cancer and kidney disease, it's difficult to extrapolate (or discount) the effects of exercise.
